A Note from Shelly:
Elfstone
Wild Is The Wind NAJ,UAGI, aka Tia or Tia Maria, came to
live with me in March of 2009. Although I’d been around
an Ibizan Hound that a friend of mine owns I had never
“lived” with one.It truly amazes me
how smart Tia is.It seems like she
learns things by watching other dogs. I currently have a
wirehaired Dachshund that runs agility so I decided to
try Tia with agility. Within 3 or 4 training sessions
she was willingly and proficiently navigating most of
the obstacles off lead. Shortly after her first 4 week
class I broke my leg and Tia’s agility training was put
on hold for 3 months. In August I decided to let my
friend continue Tia’s agility training and then show
her. With very sporadic training sessions Tia progressed
quickly, enough that she was entered in her first
agility trial in September 2009. With very limited
showing she has earned her UKC AGI and her AKC NAJ
agility titles. She also has one leg towards her AKC NA
Title. Tia loves to learn new things and is so willing
to work for/with the people she loves.Tia also has shown her talents on the lure
coursing field. She is approx 28 points from finishing
her ASFA
F.CH. (with
multiple 1st placements), only having run in
5 trials. She made her AKC Lure Coursing debut in April
and earned 2 five point majors her first weekend out.
Tia is very
athletic, intelligent and has a willingness to do what
is asked of her although she has made me aware more than
once that she is a SIGHTHOUND. She loves to kill the
rabbits that dare to trespass onto her territory and is
very proficient at thievery. Tia is a clown and a lover.
I am truly lucky to have Tia as part of my family. Thank
you Lisa!
